Smartphones Now Equipped with Google's Next-Gen AI-Powered Search Features. In the dynamic realm of the internet, Google Search continues to lead the way with its unparalleled speed, vast information diversity, and relevance. Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, has been driving innovation in search through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enhancing user interactions with search functionalities.
On Wednesday (17 Jan 20204), Google announced the introduction of two Game changing features, poised to elevate the search experience for millions of users globally. These features not only enhance accessibility to search functions but also provide users with a wealth of information at their fingertips. Leveraging its investments in AI, Google has devised intuitive ways for users to articulate their search queries naturally. The newly unveiled features are Circle to Search andAI-powered overviews for multi-search in Lens.
Circle to Search, a revolutionary feature, enables users to search for items directly on their Android phone screens without the need to switch applications. A simple gesture, such as circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping on the desired object, opens up relevant information within the app itself. For instance, identifying items from an influencer's video that lacks brand tags is now effortless. By activating Circle To Searchwith a long press on the home button or navigation bar, users can quickly find similar options for items like sunglasses from various online retailers. Once done, a simple swipe returns users to their starting point.
According to Google, the AI-powered upgrades and multisearch capabilities allow users to seamlessly search with both text and images simultaneously. This enables a deeper understanding of concepts, ideas, or topics by pulling helpful information from across the web. The feature is set to roll out initially on select premium Android devices, including the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and the new Samsung Galaxy S24 Series.
Google Lens introduces a novel search method, allowing users to point and search using both images and text to obtain results. While this innovative search option was first showcased in 2022, it underwent testing and was initially limited to users in select countries. With the recent announcement, Google aims to expand the availability of this feature to a broader audience, offering an enriched and multifaceted search experience for users worldwide.
